A few minutes ago a commercial came on & I heard, "Every act of care counts. From the grand gestures, to the tiniest looks. It all counts because every act of care we give helps the people we love, become people who love." Thus, this blog post was born!
THE MAID & CHEF
It's too often that I find myself complaining about chores, cooking, & other important "mommy duties". I forget the whole reason WHY I do them in the first place. I don't know about y'all, but I don't do dishes & laundry for fun. It's something my family counts on me doing. I sacrifice a lot of my time everyday to make sure they are clothed & have clean dishes to eat off of. Also, cooking isn't exactly my strong-suit, but I still work hard to make sure my daughter is getting the best nutrition possible. My husband is a complete different story. I couldn't get him to eat healthy even if it tasted good. Haha, anyways, that's 3 ways I show love every single day. Now this is just from a domestic point of view. So, here's another.
THE BREAD-WINNER
My husband earns our main source of income, but I created the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th flow of mulah. I don't do it with a we're-gonna-be-rich mindset, but with an ambitious one. I think my insane capacity of ambition might be my crazy mind or something genetic...It's HARD for me to shut off my ideas so I thought, "Why not make a profit of it?" I have chosen to work doing what ME, MYSELF, & I love to do, instead of working for someone else's dream. That seems like a pretty good thing to teach your kids. We live in a country where anything is possible. The American Dream. If you have a talent in art, create art. If you have a heart for helping others, go help someone! :) And/or if you love the Lord, be in accordance to His will & you will be joyful. Quoting my last post: "That doesn't mean you are exempt from hard times, but now you have The Creator paving the way & guiding you." Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men," Colossians 3:23. Now, this verse isn't saying working for other people is bad, but to give it your all in everything you do. If you completely hate what you're doing in life, it could be two things. 1.) You aren't where you should be or 2.) Your mind isn't in the right place. Teach your kids to be full of ambition all while listening to where God is calling them. The positive way you talk about your job could very well put them on the right foot when they go job hunting (or creating). Take the gifts God has given you & put them to use! :)
THE ENCOURAGER
Parents have an Incredible impact on their kids' attitudes, emotions, & decisions. For example: If you are grumpy taking your kids to school because you'd rather be in bed, you can't expect them to be morning people. My dad used to wake me up by playing music & singing silly songs. To this day, I think about it often & I feel like that strongly contributed to my current love for mornings. If you argue with your spouse in front of your children, just imagine how their future marriage will be. There's one last thing I'd like to mention about my parents. I cannot recall A Single Time they have ever argued or fought. Now that I'm older, I know that they must of, but when I was living with them, I never once heard my parents say or do anything negative towards each other. I am SO thankful for that. That alone has prepared my heart for marriage & taught me how to treat my husband more than any class or counseling could have. Kids absorb everything, so it's up to you whether they are positive or negative things. The last thing you need to ask yourself is: Are you helping your child become a person who loves?

Success & Happiness
11.04.2014
This year, I feel like I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge about success, happiness, & what that really looks like. Here are just a few things I'd like everyone to know:
MONEY ISN'T THE INDICATOR
Typically, when we hear the word success, we imagine fancy cars, homes, & clothes. Why is that? Personally, my definition of success is being surrounded by those who love me & doing what God calls me to do-which ultimately brings me joy. You could have all the money in the world, but if you hated your job & lived far away from your family, what have you really accomplished? If you lived in a palace, but never had enough time for your children, what memories would you have to look back & smile on?
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE
When you bury secrets or lies deep within, you are only allowing it to fester in your heart. Some say they hide because, "What they don't know won't hurt them, right?" or they're just too scared, but trust me when I say you will regret it if you don't...unless it puts that person's life in danger. Come clean to those whom you have kept it from so you can move on in your life story & turn the page.
FAITH, FAMILY, & FELLOWSHIP ARE THE SOURCE
If it wasn't for my faith, my family, & my church, I wouldn't be all too sure if I'd be here today.
SEEK out Jesus. Don't put Him on the shelf like an old book because if you do, life begins to slip through your fingers till you get to the point of helplessness. When my relationships are feeling strained & things aren't going MY way, I stop & realize..."What am I doing?" Not Once have I been happy when I try to do things MY way instead of God's. Align your life to the will of God & you shall find joy. Not just happiness, but Joy. That doesn't mean you are exempt from hard times, but now you have The Creator paving the way & guiding you.
LOVE your family. One of God's greatest gifts to us is family. There's not really anything else like it. At my lowest points, it was never friends that pulled me from the debris, but my amazing & faithful family. They could of just given up when I was depressed & suicidal. They could of just sent me somewhere-or to someone. But They Didn't. They fought through it With me. Take a step back & think about everything your parents, siblings, grandparents, & even your great grandparents have done for you. Now multiply that times 10. Family is my everything.
GO to church. There are a lot of Christians that don't go to church, (& no, I don't believe it is a requirement to be one) but I feel like if you don't go, you're robbing yourself from Great fellowship with other believers. I have received uplifting cards, e-mails, & messages from people in the church that have changed me as a person. Not to mention all of the prayers for me! Church is a place of refuge, knowledge, & worship. Come as you are. :)
I hope you think about these things & really take them to heart. I know it's been a little over a month since I have written a blog, so I wanted to make sure it was a good one. :) Let me know if you'd like to read more like this!
